MARTHA AVENUE-Day Eight- Well, I had thought I was going to get a day without going to the store, but alas, we christened our new pot with the pozole for our Monday customers. This pot is big enough to cook a small person. Not that I would cook a small person, but one could with a pot this big.
And so, because we have this small person-sized pot, we were able to fulfill all the Monday Pozole orders at once. Which meant that I needed to go back to my now routine place in the line at Rainbow. Bought jars and looked for Brown Rice Flour (no luck) and came home, got the sourdough set up for tomorrow, realized that we needed still more jars, so back to the line I went. Luckily, I brought a new book (The Secret Life the American Broadway Musical) to help with the waiting. It's a good thing there are two of us working on the endeavor... one cooking, one foraging... at all times.
And here we are a WeekTwo! Orders for Wednesday April 15th need to be in by Monday evening, so we have a day to prep for delivery Wednesday. I am planning another East Bay delivery day on Wednesday. Updated menu attached here and...drum roll please... new pics of the Lentil Soup, the Pomodoro, and Nettle-Walnut Pesto on Garganelli. (True confession time: After we shot the photos I "tasted" both dishes... and ate the entirety of both of them, standing up in my kitchen. Yum. Even cold)
