Martha Avenue-Day 15- It was a long one, but feels good too. We took the night off on Saturday to play Codeword online with Willi's family. I was nervous, (because I always am) but had a great time. Woke early this morning to finish up the Butternut Squash soup and set up bread and go to the store... found a load of bread flour and sorted out a bunch of compatible to-go containers for a big order coming up next week.
Went home and made brownies, plum tarte, apple crumble (both regular and vegan) and set up a bunch more bread to rise. The Pomodoro and Lentil soup Willi was working on smelled so good bubbling away all day.
We are managing to eat well ourselves too... sometimes it takes one person to say, "I haven't eaten since breakfast" to realize that we should do something for dinner, but we do eventually. Tonight, Willi was working on the Pappardelle and suggested that I take a walk to the park and forage some wild radish to add to our own dinner. Wild radish are similar to wild mustard flowers. There is a big section of Glen Park Canyon that is covered with them. It felt good to go get a walk in, get the wind blown through me and forage some greens and purples and yellows and white blossoms to add to our quesadilla. Tortillas, refried beans, cheese, grilled onions and wild radish blossoms. Delicious.
And now we continue. More Pappardelle for Willi, and I am occupied with jarring up the Pomodoro and Lentil soup, getting the orders for tomorrow organized and planning the delivery route.
Happy to be sheltering in place with people I like, grateful for the work to keep my hands and head busy, feeling very lucky to live in a house and a place that I love, and very very grateful that my family is doing ok.
Orders for Wednesday pick up or SF/East Bay Delivery can be taken through Monday night. Updated menu below.
In the meantime, take care of yourselves, be kinder than necessary, stay safe and hug your people xoxo
