A day of cleaning, organizing, prepping. Got a nice walk with Dick this morning at Chrissy Field. So good to be able to talk through all the tsouris in the world with good friends. And get a walk in. We were well-masked, but still got to feel like an ordinary walk in an extraordinary time.
Spent the day making Butternut Squash soup, Thai Curry (special order) and prepping a huge bag of Meyer Lemons (that Colin and Karen gave us) for Lemon Curd. Cleaned the kitchen (I am like Sisyphus in there) and vacuumed the house. Willi finished up processing the endless mushrooms.
Willi's sister-in-law and brother welcomed in a new person today. Mama and baby are doing well. Uncle Willi is proud and scheming a way to take a trip to Washington to see the new nephew.
We are planning to switch out the Apple Crumble for a Stone Fruit Cobbler for the summer. Seems like a waste not to use the luscious stone fruits in the markets right now. So good even when the juice runs down your chin.
Menu below is good through the week. Friday orders should be placed by Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Special orders are possible... just reach out. Special Order cakes and fresh pies, anyone?
Take some time tonight to do something kind for your body. We are headed out to the outdoor tub for a good long soak. Drink some extra water. Watch The 13th or Becoming. Write down three things that you feel grateful for. Love your body; it works so hard for you, day after day after day. Give that body a hug. And hug yourself for me too. xoxo
